The SmarTone HK Challenge is Hong Kong's premier corporate team building and experiential management development programme. Now in it's 5th years, the event will return to Lantau from the 18th-20th October 2012, with the teams being hosted at the Disneyland Hotel. As in previous years, the event will see up to 50 of Asia's top companies go head to head in 2 days and nights of strategic, mental and physical challenges, which includes an exclusive negotiation skills business game designed by two INSEAD lecturers.

The event focuses on 3 key work related competencies:

Talent Development - Pre–Event

All participants will have the option of undertaking an on-line psychometric evaluation, with a full interpretation guide and de-brief documents being made available. Should your company wish to formally integrate this process into their on-going training and development activities, we would be able to assist in facilitating these de-briefs.

Talent Development - Post-Event

As well as inviting senior management and HR executives to observe their teams in action on 2 of the 5 stages, the organisers would also be available to provide de-briefing sessions post event to help participants better understand their experiences. These could be carried out informally outside of the work environment, or more formally and tied to specific goals and performance objectives for the following year.

Communication and Decision Making

Each stage in the event is non-linear, and could be a combination of kayaking and code cracking or night navigation and construction task. Success is achieved by devising the right strategy given the strengths and weaknesses of your team.

Business Specific Skills and Benefits

Leading on from the successful inclusion of a business game stage in 2010, the year will see the launch of a business negotiation skills stage exclusive created for the event and designed in conjunction with lecturers from the European business school INSEAD.

As well as taking part in the Hong Kong Challenge, many of HK's top companies are retaining our services to create bespoke in-house programmes. These programmes can be integrated into the senior management development schemes of investments banks as we did for 50 top MDs earlier in 2011, or used as part of a regional employee engagement programme as we're doing for China Light and Power.
